50 centThe 2007 epic biopic of Frank Lucas,  American Gangster,  included a stellar cast lead by Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.  The cast also featured 3 rappers that have become mainstays on the screen, all to varying degrees of success.

But this isn’t about the RZA, Common, or Tip’s performances in the film.

No.

This is about a rapper that DIDN’T get to act alongside Denzel in the movie.

This is about a then-new rapper-turned-actor, 50 Cent, fresh off of his universally panned performance in Get Rich or Die Trying, placing his name up for consideration for a support role in American Gangster, playing one of Lucas’ Carolina brothers.

Below is the audition tape that recently surfaced of one Curtis Jackson and his unbelievably bad portrayal of one of the brothers Lucas sent for to further his drug empire.

Let’s just say, it’s a good thing he didn’t get the role.
