BLOG: Swimmer Ryan Lochte’s Grill Was Made by Paul Wall & TV Johnny

Hip-hop and more importantly, HTOWN Hip-hop were center stage at the London Olympics over the weekend.

Swimmer, Ryan Lochte won one of the first gold medals for the home team and when he went to receive his honor, he was told that he couldn’t wear his custom designed gold grill on the podium.

His grill featured an iced out US flag and looked pretty dope.

The Olympic committee, in all of its magnificence decided to attempt to rain on the young swimmer’s parade with the preemptive disciplinary proclamation.

Didn’t work.

He just waited until it was his turn to hit the podium, slipped his grill in and stunted HARD on the IOC and the rest of the world.

Well, would it surprise you to know that his grill was desgined and created by none other than Paul Wall and Johnny Dang?

Yeah, didn’t surprise me either.

Paul Wall spoke to XXL

“For him to represent us and our culture, the grill culture, it’s just shining a light on hip-hop in the Olympics.   Everyone’s talking about it…it’s just an incredible thing to be part of. I’m just honored to be part of it. There’s not too many world-class swimmers wearing our grill.”

And if you think he was just gushing, Paul Wall, always the hustler, threw this in.

“Seeing all the excitement that the general public has had over the grills, me and Johnny want to put this out there that any U.S. Olympian who wins a gold medal, we’re going to make ‘em a free gold grill…….On the house.”

Go. USA.
