TECH: #TwitterBlackout ??

So, Twitter now has the capability to censor tweeters on a country by country basis, huh?

Basically meaning, the end of free-speech on Twitter as we know it.

Yeah, well not so fast.

The massive community of micro-bloggers that is Twitter has begun to organize in retaliation.  Much like the anti-SOPA and PIPA protests from a few weeks ago, this campaign calls for users to discontinue use of the popular social networking site for one day.

That day is tomorrow, January 28th, 2012.

Using the hashtag #twitterblackout, those that are against Twitter’s new capabilities are sounding off and spreading the word.
