It seems like Watch the Throne turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving. Not only did the monumental album from Jay-Z and Kanye West top charts and spawned the infectious, yet taboo titled, Niggas in Paris, give us one of 2011’s biggest tours, and show the world 40 year old rappers CAN tour, but now it seems we have laughter in our collective future and we all have The Throne to thank for it…
Yes, it seems funnymen Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are in talks to tour, TOGETHER!!
Vulture caught up with Rock at Sundance, where he is debuting his Julie Delpy indie 2 Days In New York and the comedian admitted that rumors that him and Chappelle had some validity.”I’ve been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour,” Rock said.
Rock cites the hip-hop super-duo’s success as inspiration for their interest in working together.
According to Rock, the tour hinges on Chappelle’s thumbs up. “You know I’m not the hard one,” he said to Vulture, while laughing. “But I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave should do this.'”
