Are these teachers racist?
Teachers in Los Angeles gave their students a list of prominent African-American figures to design posters of for a school parade honoring Black History Month. Three particular teachers chose controversial names for their students to focus on.
I wonder how this makes those guys feel, knowing that just the idea of a student having to do a school project with them as the subject is considered racist and degrading. But is it really racist? I mean, sure, I wouldn’t choose RuPaul to write a story about or design a poster of, but let’s be real, these guys are parts of black history too. Maybe not the part we want to think about, but they are black history.
